Thanks for the suggestion. Given that we are drydocked in Alberta, I
will try and get a sample of the marine canvas (from a friend in
Vancouver) and see if I can match it up in Edmonton. I don't know if
the local Tent and Awning shop can tailor an awning without the
original, but it's worth a try. Unlike the snaps you mentioned on your
'stream, ours has a rail that you slide the awning awn to (I mean on
to). Anyhow, thanks and please know I've found your posts on maintaining
the integrity of the Airstream interior while redecorating, very
interesting.

Boat cover shops are plentiful out here on the coast. A standard blue canvas
they use for sail covers would match the Airstream blue perfectly. They
generally use the old ....whatever.... for a pattern to make a replacement.
Compared to the stuff they make to cover boats an awning would be no sweat.
My '62 Bambi came with a snap-on tent, no directions of course. Has any
one ever seen one of these or have a photo of one of these set-up. The
former owner never figured it out and he believed it was missing hardware.
