Welcome to the list. Actually, to me, Reese and Drawtite are interchangable.... I say Reese like I say Kleenex............ I have had Drawtite hitches and was perfectly happy with them.

Frankly, I'm not sure which receiver I have on the suburban now. The Hensley is not the same as a Reese/Drawtite........... It's a $2400.00 hitch "system" which can attach to either a Reese or Drawtite receiver. The Hensley hitch attaches to the trailer frame....not the truck frame.

I have recently purchased a 1979 26' airstream that I hope to pull with a 1997 Toyota 4Runner. Do those of you with more pulling experience think I have enough truck for the trailer?

Nope.........

The 4 runner with the 6 cyclinder engine has a 5,000 pound tow rating........... The 26 foot Airstream is heavier "wet". So, you not only have that to worry about...another problem is the 4 Runner is a short wheelbase SUV.......... you need a long wheelbase for stability. The 4 Runner will pull it........... but not as safely as you want.... also, I'm not sure it could stop it.

Another problem..... if you were to have an accident..... your insurance company could say... Hey... you exceeded the tow capacity............

Not what you wanted to hear I know..... but you asked......... and that's my opinion.
