I personally prefer long wheelbase diesel anything with proper towing setups and a Hensley hitch system. My current vehicle is a 1998/99 Diesel Tahoe 4x4. Short wheelbase, so I am limited to 25ft trailers to be safe. Of course, its only me and the wife !

Diesels give much better fuel milage and last forever if given routine maintenance.
