I don't have an Airstream but I do have a 95 Dodge 1 ton club cab diesel. Anyway
I had a cabover camper (finally sold that anchor last week after advertising for 1 1/2
years. Looking for a 25' Airstream now) that had the same problem with fluid
leaking past the guillotine valve after sitting for about a year. What happened in my
case was that toilet paper and waste had dried in the seal of the guillotine valve not
allowing it to seat properly. The valve handle was only 1/8 '' from the fully closed
position and the valves were only 3 years old so I knew they were not worn out. If
you can, try a holding tank cleaner that attaches to the end of the hose and aim it at
the valve while its in the open position. the object is to clear the U shaped channel
that the guillotine slides in I ended up flushing the tank three or four times before
the valve cleared itself.
Good luck. :-)

95 Dodge Ram Bigger Fatter Diesel 1 Ton :-)
No Airstream yet :-(

It looks to me like I will have to remove the sheet metal covering for the
gray & black tanks to get to the valve. Is there any other way?
Will it heal it self if let be? It hadn't been used for about a year when we
bought it.
Thanks for any input you might have.
