Some retail places let you stay in their parking lots. Walmarts for example... BUT not all Walmarts... if there is a town ordinance against it....then you can't. If you are driving and it's late and you pull off into a Walmart lot.... be sure to go in and ask the manager.

Then, don't pull out the lawn chairs and grill...remember you are parking there, not camping (c: Some Cracker Barrels, KMarts........ I'm not suggesting that you plan a week in a parking lot....but if it's late and you're tired it's a safe alternative to driving too long.

It's also nice to pick up a few items while you are there.

Some people pull off at highway rest stops......... I wouldn't feel safe doing that.
