Hi all, not getting anything on the Vintage list. Hope I am signed up
right, I sent a "Help" message. So I'll send this to our Airstream group
w/a question: Ok, I've read all I could find on a bowed door caused by
flying open while barreling down the hwy. At this point, nothing is working
or I am reading the "tips" wrong. Charlie wrote (in CD ROM) that one should
use a 2x4 as a fulcrum. Is that (I guess) with
the door off? Is it laying on the ground, inside down, with the 2x4
in the center? The procedure isn't clear to me. Also, Kaybear wrote, sometime
ago about her 65 mph incident and pushing from the outside, at the top
and bottom of the door, in toward the center. Neither of these techniques
are working. At this time, there is a heavy rope wrapped around the door
vertically and a piece of narrow wood is used on the inside as a tourniquet
to hold it in place. However, it does not seem to be bending the upper
and lower areas of the door in enough to make a tight fit. Any advice?
