Heating aluminum depending the amount shall make it soft removes all temper. We heat it up in a oven to remove temper to able stretch forming, bending and better HELI-ARC welding. Then we send it to heat treat shop to retemper it to the hardness needed. 7075 Aluminum is a pure Aircraft alloy. Heat destroys it, because of the copper content in alloy chemistry.
