Great news Hartwell: If you can screw the bulb in the light, wire it, and turn on the switch, you know about 75% of the theory for the no-code technician license, no joke ! Get either the Tune in the World book by ARRL, or the Gordon West No Code Ham Radio License manual, both available at Radio Shack stores. Read thru them, and enjoy.

Doug,

Many thanks for the tips.

I printed out your post and Byron's -- now to do some research on Ham radio. I will be back with questions.

BTW, we will be 'Streamin' into LA during Spring break in about 6 weeks -- this trip will hit Shreveport, Alex, and Lafayette -- just to see some of the extended family. I am already thinking about a big meal of mudbugs.
