Hello folks,

I have a 63 24' Trade Wind. It has a 'stromberg' hydraulic brake system.

** Tow vehicle:
The tow vehicle has a slave cylinder coming out the rear beside the hitch (just like your wire plug pigtail), this slave cylinder is attached to the tow vehicle brake line. When the tow vehicles brake are applied the slave cylinder piston moves.

** Very vintage airstream:
Attached to the tongue is the 'stromburg coupler'. The slave cylinder from tow vehicle is connected to the coupler with a really neat quick connect bracket (stromburg coupler). Also attached to the coupler is a master cylinder. the entire system is hydraulic. Of course there is no fluid interchange between the two separate systems (tow vehicle and airstream). This system seems that it would work very good, giving actual live braking via the master cylinders.

** Question:
Does anyone know about this system?
Are there any parts available?
Is there an economical alternative? (ex: thrust or electric, is the change over something that a good do-it-yourselfer can do) (my budget has gone way over by now :().

I believe that my system is good except for a rubber bushing in the slave cylinder (old and cracked) and the piston rod that travels between the slave cylinder and the (airstream) master cylinder (the adjustment screw is now part of the rod) is no longer adjustable (no lash adjustment).

Please Help Me
Thanks
