I have seen a few inspirational pictures of a mid-1950's Caravan overseas (through Aisa, I recall) where many of the A/S trailers are being towed by a mix of cars and four wheel drive 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks. Most of the trucks appear to be Internationals as they wwre among the first truck manufacturers to offer $X$ trucks in the mid-50's. Most of the International are Travelalls and pickups with utility bodies. A few Ford and Chevy pickups can also be seen. Some of the pickups sported aluminum caps, still stylish and practical even today (but harder to find than an old trailer). Dodge trucks rarely appear in the old photos, but Dodge did not offer 4 wheel drive on their conventional line trucks until 1957, apparently after these particular Caravan pictures were taken. The Dodge one ton Power Wagon was likely was too uncomfortable to drive any distance. Pictures of other Caravans (in Europe) show predominately mid-50's cars as tow vehicles.

I don't need another club as the VAC suits me fine, and I already have club affiliations for the Dodge trucks. I'll just appear (someday) and WOW them at the rallies.
