Hi Clark,
Firstly, I don't have any answers for you, but I'm so glad I read your post regarding the florescent harmonics. As we (XYL is ham also) are in the process of outfitting our '64 O'lander for longer off-grid trips (Baja) I considered changing over to florescents totally. Figured it would be less draw on the solar charged batteries and therefore envisioned softly lit evenings working DX and back home using some of the incandescent vs. florescent lighting savings. Very glad to be forewarned. THIS is the kind of stuff we need on the list.
Secondly, the previous owner had tornout the recharging portion of the Univolt system. I have a number of 12 v dc wires paired but very little clue as to exactly what went where or did what.
The vehicle pig tail which I changed to match the current industry standard charges the 12v deep cycle when hooked-up, but zip on shore power. The pump wiring is squared away, with its kitchen switch. I would appreciate any schematic you may have or can direct me to a source.
Warm regards,

They're decidedly unstable (the oscillators are unstable--as why would they be made stable?) and they will sweep back and fourth across the frequency. So. My question is: Has anyone tried anything to shut one of these things up--other, of course, than shutting it off?
Awaiting your answer(s) expectantly,
