Well, I am getting into the first stages of the remodel of my interior. Replacing all cabinetry with solid cherry cabinets/furniture that I will built to suit our needs, cherry wood trim, hardwood and some carpet on the floor, new wallpaper, etc.

But, when we bought the trailer, Lori was initially skeptical because it seemed so dark inside. (Actually, now that I have spent more time in the trailer, it is really quite cozy the way it is.) Well, I told her we could put in skylights. And, now I'm on the hook to figure that out. I'm thinking of replacing the center ceiling panel entirely with a new cherry wood panel with the skylights built in and using captain's lights recessed in the new ceiling panel to replace the existing 12V lights in the vents. Has anyone done anything similar? and what are the pitfalls and potholes I should consider before I start ripping things out?
