Yes, Airstream did make Aluminum Motorhomes.

In Fact they are called: Classic Airstream Motorhomes - The "Classic" telling you, that are like the "Classic" Airstream Trailers.

We, ourselves have just purchased a 1984 - 31' Classic Airstream Motorhome & are just waiting to be able to pick it up. (We are in Tulsa, OK and the Motorhome is in Virginia). I don't know how far BACK the Classic Motorhomes go. I do know that we have looked at some dating back - it was either a 1975 or 1977-78. And I know they made the Classic Motorhome AT LEAST through 1992.

We had a 1994 25' Winnebago Motorhome - that was recently totaled in an accident. Our Winnie did not have near the moving around room in it (even with the drop down bunk option above the driving compartment) - that our '65 Caravel - Airstream Trailer has. Don't get me wrong - our Winnie was very comfortable! (And we DO miss her!) But Airstream optimized the use of space in their Classic Motorhomes as they do in their Trailers. We are really looking forward to picking her up. (The extra 6 feet will make not only us happy but also our 3 German Shepherds - that travel with us, quite often.)

Charlie Burke is the one you can give you the exact year Airstream started making their Classic Motorhome and whether they STILL make the Classic or the year they stopped. He'll read yours & this message probably tonight. I HOPE he answer you across the list, as we would also like to know when Airstream FIRST made their Classic Motorhome.

As far as Vintage Motorhomes in general. You might check with Tin Can Tourist. http://www.tincantourist.com . They are a club for Vintage Trailer AND Vintage Motor Coaches! The current Vintage Airstream Club President - Forrest Bone - is also the President of TCT and headed up the "Rebirth" of TCT - the OLDEST RV Club!

Enjoy the list, it's one big Family! And don't forget to vote for your Favorite Sticker/Decal/Plate. The list members want to be able to identify each other on the road, as well as introduce other, 'Streamers' to our Terrific Family - On-line!

Later,
Jim & Sharon
