Silicone Caulk . Caulk-Away & Caulk- Rite Tools from Cajun Doug favorite
store . West Marine Part # 119623 & 119607. These two tools should help
some . .Razor Blade type Knife starts the cutting away all you can remove .
I F ? you can get it cut out to a layer of about .005 thickness , try a
Brass Brush with Diesel fuel. If that does not work set it on fire and burn
it off !!!! (joke time) There are ways to get it off quick and easy but
CAUTION must be taken or you shall destroy the Aluminum . Note; forget the
Clear coat the silicones have gone through it . Sanding and wire brushing
must be taken with the Caution also, if you sand with 120 grit , you must
bring the surface texture back to 800 grit. Saying that you start the
removal @ 120, then sand at 240 , 320 , 400 , 600 , and 800 wet and dry
paper. I can polish it out to Chrome at 800. Metal finishing is an ART.
There are all types ideas out there in E Mail land maybe we need to Dig
out some of the Groupies 1920 Technology .

Abrasive Pads like the green type Norton work good also. Once the green is
used go to 320 and start the sand back to 800. OK now DO NOT try to skip
around or short cut cause it shall not work . Surface finish to a bright is
right requires the Micro Smoothness with NO sand lines.

Sad Bill & Judy Airstream. someone put a tear drop silicone one every
rivet from window line up. In places around the tops of windows it is caked
about a 1/2 inch thick , Plus every Seam has it in it Caked . Some must
have been Paranoid about water . Wish there was a easy answer .
